West Street Potters has a very active group of Raku enthusiasts.  Since investing in a brand new Raku kiln in 2016 we have run a weekend workshop with Steve Carter ‘From the Fire into the Pond’ and our tutor Kathy Mason has run regular workshops for members throughout the summer months for members to learn the process of raku and gain familiarity with the kiln.

All tutors include Raku as a regular part of their regular week day classes during the summer months, when the evenings are lighter.

There have been some fabulous results and some people have defintitely ‘got the raku bug’!

Kathy has provided some raku notes for people who attended on of her workshops and would like a reminder of the processes, click here: Raku Firing Notes.

Kathy is planning Raku sessions on Monday afternoons 2pm-5pm up until half term starting from the 17th September (24th Sept, 1st, 8th and 15th Oct).

You will need to book, but pay Kathy on the day.

Please be aware that times may over run.

You will need to bring bisque pots that have been pre-glazed ready for firing.

Please get in touch if you would like to reserve a place.  £15 WSP members, £20 non-members. Max of 8 people per session.

Priority will be given to WSP members.  It is pay on the day, but if you do not give more than 48 hours notice that you are unable to attend, you will still be charged if the place cannot be filled.
