Kathy is planning a Pit Firing during the Autumn term.
Fliss Blackburn, a WSP member from Jane’s sculpture class, who lives locally, has kindly offered some of her garden to allow this to happen.
The plan is as follows: (weather permitting)
Friday 7th September at about 2.30pm a small team of volunteers is required to dig the pit.
Anyone wishing to take part will require bisque fired items that are suitable for pit firing. There may be spare bisque work available at the workshop.
The firing date will either be Wed 12th or Wed 19th September at 10.30am.
Saw dust will be provided but anyone interesting in joining may want to gather sea weed/banana skins/copper wire/washing powder etc.
On the firing day we will pack start the kilns. Fliss will monitor it over the subsequent days until it is cool enough to unpack, probably the following Sunday, and then help will be needed to fill up the pit again.
Unfortunately no dogs are allowed.
Please email me if you are interesting in taking part: email@example.com
