This wonderful demonstration by Dylan Bowen was like being immersed in a double chocolate brownie!
The ingenuous warmth and apparent simplicity of Dylan’s approach hid a carefully considered process. Throwing dishes, clay wrapped around dowels, flat plates, all treated with a casualty that belied the thought processes.
Slip slopped and squirted – blown Raspberries – a performance with a dancers grace, the subtle changes in movement welcomed or rejected. We all shared, for that day, his joy in a serendipitous journey where travelling is all.
Dylan was refreshingly unpompous in saying: “sometimes I sit and look at my pots, I’m not thinking anything, just looking”.
318 Ceramics and WSP Potters ‘did not disgrace themselves’ with a superb lunch and visitors new to the pottery site were appreciative of it’s unique atmosphere.
