Adele Goulty – Handbuilding Workshop – Sat 28th April

One Day Handbuilding Workshop – Saturday 28th April

with Adele Goulty in WSP studio @ Farnham Pottery, 9am – 4pm

The day will be about creating both simple and complex shapes using coiling and sculpting back, and how to design a form from a found object such as a pebble, seed pod or piece of wood etc.

Clay will be provided, as this is the clay I use for my work and I will bisq fire up to two pieces per person .  This clay is also good for raku firing so would be perfect if you are going to participate in some raku workshops at WSP or 318 this summer.

Clay and bisq firing included in the £50 fee.

There will be a break for lunch and we can book a table in the cafe if you wish (not included ) or bring your own food to have in the studio.  Coffee and tea will be provided.

A real treat to see Tom Platt’s work at the pottery today.  I love turning up for a coffee these days, you never know what delights will greet you….a real buzz of creativity!

Tom Platt has created a body of work inspired by The Farnham Pottery; its history and production of the renowned owl jugs. His three dimensional richly painted forms are being exhibited in the Kiln Room Gallery between 20 March and 9 May. The exhibition is titled ‘The Owls are not what they seem’.

Tom will be discussing his work at a ‘Meet the Artist’ evening between 6 and 8 pm on Friday 23 March – this is a free event and you are most welcome pop along for a glass of wine and have a look for yourselves.
