Great to see our new portable slab roller in action! I wonder what this ended up as?
WSP member Fran accidentally left her bag with all her tools in the car park on Wednesday (24 Jan) evening.
If anyone saw them, or kindly picked them up, please get in touch.
She has been collecting and working with these tools throughout her potting life and she is missing them terribly.
PACS’ next demonstration day is on 10th March, with animal sculptor Susan Halls.
People interested need to contact Christine Bull, WSP tutor, on a Tuesday evening in the class, or by phone or email (on the poster).
A pot made of Earthenware clay was by mistake fired in the gas kiln. The resulting lava flow damaged other people’s work and the kiln shelves. The member whose pot it was is devastated at the damage done and wants to apologise to everyone who lost their work.
The clay was not one that WSP sell. It would be sensible if members use clay supplied by WSP or recommended by their tutors. If members want to try out clays bought ‘out of house’ please ensure that test tiles are made and fired at all temperatures before making anything else.
Our marvellous Tuesday Technician spent almost her entire allotted time cleaning the kiln and shelves.
This is all put in perspective when compared to the people of Hawaii who thought they going suffer a missile attack after someone pressed the wrong button!
A spare place has unexpectedly come up in the Wednesday afternoon Sculpture class with Jane Jones 1-3pm.
If you are able to attend tomorrow there would be 11 of 12 classes remaining, or due to short notice, the place is available from next week leaving 10 remaining sessions.
Class fee would be pro rata, £120 for 11 classes, or £109 for 10 classes.
Get in touch if you are interested.
