This popular workshop with Myra McDonnell is a great opportunity to learn some professional decorating techniques. Myra has spent a life time as a decorating potter and this session will prove to be both interesting and inspiring.
Decorating techniques covered during the workshop will be sponging, bonding and pouncing (design transfer) along with traditional brushwork.
The morning will involve some historical context, demonstrations and practising the various techniques discussed.
After lunch the students will have the opportunity to decorate their own pieces for firing.
- The use of brushes, preparation of pigments and stains are all included in the price, along with some bisque plates to practice on.
- Please bring along 2 or 3 of stoneware or earthenware bisque pieces (small) to decorate with your own pattern ideas.
These will be fired by Myra and available to be collected at a later date from 318.
Bring lunch with you or eat in the café.
