Farnham Mayor’s Charity Concert

Please find attached a letter from the Mayor of Farnham, Cllr Jeremy Ricketts, inviting you to his special Charity Concert to be held on 21st February in the Aldridge Theatre at Frensham Heights School.  I also attach a flyer for this event.

Those attending  will be in for a real musical treat. The theme of the evening is “Songs from Stage and Screen” and the line-up includes two local choirs, Vocal Point Chamber Choir and Voices Together Community Choir. The performances will include a wide range of music to suit all tastes including Jazz, Folk, Opera and Pop.

The concert is being conducted by the director of both Vocal Point and Voices Together Community Choir, Valerie Hoppé MBE.

All the money raised from the concert will go towards furthering the excellent work of the Farnham’s Post 19 group, who the Mayor has chosen to support for his year 2014-15. This is a community-based programme aimed at young adults with learning difficulties. The Group aims to encourage students to work and participate in their local communities.

Tickets cost £20 and the price includes a complimentary glass of sparkling wine on arrival. To buy tickets visit the Council Offices, email civic@farnham.gov.uk or call 01252 712667.

Farnham Repair Cafe – Next one….Sat 14th February

A Repair Café has launched in Farnham to promote the need to share and repair; bringing new life to broken stuff.  The next one is at the United Reformed Church on Saturday 14th February 10-12.30pm.  So if you are not going along to the WSP workshop to see Jonathan Garratt in action, perhaps you can take your broken stuff to be fixed!

There are volunteers who are ready and eager to help you out with your gadgets, your textiles, your bikes, your mechanical stuff… And they are looking forward to a challenge!

Have a look at the Facebook site for more information https://www.facebook.com/FarnhamRepairCafe

The United Reform Church is located opposite the sainsburys in town. The hall is located to the right of the church before you enter. Doors will be open at 10am.
