Farnham Library have been in touch regarding their Farnham Craft Town celebration and activities. They would like to host some pottery demonstrations in the library during October 2014.
Would any WSP or group of WSP’s be interested in taking part?
It can be hand-building or throwing (wheel would need to be provided by WSP). This is all about engaging people in pottery as a craft and showing people what can be achieved with clay. You don’t need to be an expert, just up for a bit of fun to help promote pottery in the local community.
Saturdays would be the most popular in terms of people visiting the library, but very welcome on weekdays too.
Let me know if you are interested.
Our Company accounts for year ended July 2013 are now available for members. In previous years many printed copies of the report have been wasted so this year we are adopting a policy of electronic distribution on request to email@example.com or by letter of request for a printed version to our address. The print cost savings will benefit all members.
As you know storage for clay at the Pottery is very limited, and we therefore restrict availability to the four most popular types namely Scarva PF570, Potclays – Craft Crank 1114 & Stoneware Throwing Body 2110, and Red grogged Terracotta.
Sue Broadhead has a preference for, the smoother premium version of Potclays Craft Crank 3114 and the Porcelain (HF) 1149 and therefore has a stock of each stored off site.
Should any WSP member also like to use or try these clays they can be obtained by arrangement from 29 Longdown Road at £10 and £15 per 12.5kg. bag VAT inclusive.
West Street Potter Sandie Hughes is the ceramic element of this. Wonderful if you able to support.
